Star Wars Birthday

Star Wars Birthday

Let's Party......

I thew my boys a birthday party together this year since their birthdays are only 3 weeks apart and they both wanted a Star Wars theme! Here are some fun ideas if you’re planning to throw a Star Wars Party. These ideas can totally be used for other party themes so keep on reading if you’re throwing a party any time soon!

Loot Bags

It’s always hard to decide what to put inside loot bags especially if your kid’s birthday parties are so close together. I like to use something that is within the party theme and then add a gift card to it. This time I used pens from Amazon (linked here) and a Star Wars Pez I found at Toys R Us. I added McDonalds gift cards to each loot bag too. I used  Canva to create May the Force be With you tags and attached them to each loot bag with black and white ribbon.

My printables are available here for free download.

Jedi Training

We wanted to incorporate lightsabers into the party in some way so we created a Jedi Training station.

I used a kid sized table from IKEA and a shelf from Giant Tiger to create the set up. The shelf was a bit of a DIY. We drilled holes through the top of it and placed a dowel through it. This acted as the clothing rack that the robes were hung on. I added disco ball mirror stickers (that I found at Dollarama) to the front of both the table and the shelf, to give it a little sparkle. We found the robes at the Dollartree, the Star Wars themed tattoos at Party City and the blow up lightsabers from  Amazon.

Decor and Table Setting

One of my favourite things to do is get my kids involved in the decorating process. This time they were happy to help with blowing up the balloons and creating the balloon arch. We alternated black and white balloons and then added clear star filled balloons throughout. Lastly we added Star Wars decals from Dollartree to some of the front facing balloons.

I also got the kids involved in creating the signs. They were happy to be part of the process and proud of how it turned out.

Check out the video here. My favourite place to get party decor is Lemonade Party Box. She has a variety of decor for any party theme. This time I chose a solid coloured plate and added a fun napkin to tie in the party theme! I went with black, white and gold with a touch of green. We also grabbed a piñata from Party City, which was a favourite for the kids.

Outfits

We took a trip over to Cakeworthy in Limeridge mall to grab matching Star Wars clothing. You can also shop their collections online. The boys got matching tshirts and I got a fun Star Wars dress. Since they only have adult sizes I had to make some adjustments for my boys.

Snacks

Lastly we created chocolate covered lightsabers using pretzels and melting chocolate. Check out the tutorial here
