Garden to Table
Why I Love Growing Edible Flowers
One of my favorite parts of gardening is growing plants that are both beautiful and functional. Edible flowers allow me to enjoy them outdoors all season long before harvesting a few blooms to bring inside for entertaining.
Whether I’m hosting friends, putting together a charcuterie board for family movie night, or creating a special drink for a celebration, edible flowers instantly make everything feel a little more special.
My Favourite Edible Flowers
Chamomile
Chamomile is one of the sweetest flowers to grow. Its tiny daisy-like blooms add a delicate, whimsical touch to drinks and desserts.
I love floating fresh chamomile flowers in iced tea, lemonade, or cocktails. They also make a beautiful garnish alongside fresh fruit and soft cheeses on a charcuterie board.

Nasturtiums
If you’re looking for a flower that makes a statement, nasturtiums are it.
Their vibrant orange, red, and yellow blooms bring incredible colour to any spread. They have a slightly peppery flavor, similar to arugula, which pairs beautifully with cheeses, cured meats, and crackers.

Lavender
Lavender is one of my favourite flowers for both its beauty and fragrance.
A few sprigs can transform a simple drink into something that feels straight out of a garden party. I use lavender as a garnish for lemonade, sparkling water, cocktails, and iced coffee.
Violas

Violas might be my favourite edible flower of all.
Their variety of colors and patterns, make them perfect for decorating charcuterie boards, cakes, cookies, and drinks. They have a very mild flavor, which makes them incredibly versatile.
